Titles

I have now begun to put the titles and effects onto the title sequence. I found it quite tricky at first however once I had got used to it I was able to use the software to my best ability and create titles which fit in with the film and shots perfectly.

Editing - Thursday 9th February 2012

Today I have begun to upload and edit the rest of our footage which is for my title sequence. For it to flow and fade in together in a mysterious way I chose the shots which do this individually, for them to then fade into the shots either side etc. As I was doing this I decided to go for the idea of having a long pan going one way, so that it doesn't look unequal and jumpy. To make sure that all of the shots did this, I had to in fact slow some down, speed some up and even reverse them, making them go the opposite way to which they did at first. Overall this had a great effect.

This shows how I had to reverse and change the speed of some shots.

After now incorporating the titles footage and placing them into the sequence it now contains all of the shots needed. The beginning of the timeline now looks like this:

Who Did What?

This is a post which shows who did what throughout the filming and editing process:

Editing - Friday 3rd February 2012

Today I began to edit my rough cut of my opening sequence, and I believe it went very well for a first attempt with our footage. You can see here that I have a couple of copies of the final cut project, meaning that I changed a lot of things around each time, and then re-saved the project:

I have got each shot in the order I want so far which is shown on the timeline:

If I wish to change this order or any thing else such as effects then it will be possible to do so in further editing sessions.

Shot List

This is our shot list, and it will help us when we come to film our opening sequence. The shots here are in order of which they will be filmed, starting with the London location, and then Bexleyheath. It will help us to remember which shot goes where, especially when we aren't filming the whole thing in one whole go, as there are different parts set at different places.

Test Shots

These are the test shots of the actors who appear in our film. They consist of the killer, and both of the victims in our story.

Scott Rudd - Killer
The reason we chose Scott to be our main character, is firstly we are both good friends with him therefore he will perform to his best ability. Secondly, he received an A* mark in GCSE Drama which is phenomenal. Also, as he is very tall he would pass off as an older male, which is the type of person we very much want to play this role.

Beth Funnell - Victim
Beth is part of the crew, a producer and a director, as well as one of the actors. We decided for her to be a part of the film as otherwise we would be relying too heavily on other people to be a part of our film, as from previous experiences people haven't turned up to shoots in the past, so we thought it would be better for her to act in the opening of the film.

Beckie Gordon - Victim
Beckie is also part of the crew, a producer and a director, as well as one of the actors. We again decided for her to be a part of the film for the same reason as Beth, above. Beckie also does A Level Drama, and her last grade on her report was a B, which means another great actor for our opening sequence.

Weather Check

This is the weather forecast for the next week in Bexleyheath. We are focused on the day Thursday 12th as this is the day we will be shooting here. It should not be too much of a problem if the weather is bad as we will be inside.

This is the weather forecast for the next week in London. We will be shooting here on Sunday 8th, and therefore the weather shouldn't be a problem.

Asset List

This is everything we will need for filming our opening sequence, most of the images have been taken off of the internet, however they are extremely similar to the actual equipment and costumes which will be used.

Recce Shots - Locations: Bexleyheath and London

This is a shot of The Tenpin Bowling Alley car park in Bexleyheath. It is inside with more than 1 level, a ground level and a lower level, also meaning that it is weatherproof. There are lights inside so that we will be able to film with a fair amount of light, and will not be affected if it raining outside.

This next picture is of the outside of the car park. It shows that is is a large size and that from here its clear that it is very long. There are spaces outside aswell, but we will only be filming on the inside.

This is another shot of the outside of the car park, and it is also visible that the Bowling Alley is actually above the car park. It was taken from the other side of the road, revealing its full size, and the ground level.

This is a picture of Bexleyheath high street, just across the road from the car park itself, there are offices here which would be excellent for a thriller film setting. Its also great as its very noticeable that there are offices in the shot.

We hope to shoot the scenes in the street in London, as we feel that they will lot a grand lot better as London is in fact a city and Bexleyheath is a town. The setting will be extremely similar to the shot of the offices in the highstreet (above).

Storyboard

This is our storyboard for our film 'The Hunt'. There are 19 shots, and there is at least 1 close up within every 3. By doing this it will help us when filming so that we are aware of the shot types and the angles for every shot, and makes it clearer to understand the whole scene.

Titles Map

This is the titles map for our film 'The Hunt'. It is the order in which the shots will appear on screen, starting with the first 10 titles which consist of the directors etc. The last one within this beginning sequence of 10 is the actual title of the film. After this is seen, the film starts and the shots of the film appear. It is very intriguing and lasts just over 2 minutes, throughout this opening sequence the killer's face is not revealed, creating a kind of suspense as to not knowing who it is or what the person looks like, until the end where the audience will see just the eyes. This may want to make them want to know who it is even more, and possibly the only thing revealed is whether they are male or female.

This here is the list of shots in which they appear, it is the same shots as what are on the titles map, however easier to read and in slight more detail
