Preliminary Task - Our Interrogation Scene Video

This is our version of an interrogation scene from a film called '6 Ways To Kill Your Husband (Or Wife)'. We used all of our planning and research as a guide for filming this scene, including types of shots, angles of shots it was then edited and it turned out to be extremely successful.

Preliminary Task - Shot List

This is the shot list which was created to guide us whilst filming our scene. We decided to use a variety of different shots in our scene because it would make it a lot more interesting, once its edited and also for us to film. Within every 3 shots there is a close up, or an extreme close up, this was a necessity as it is a thriller to add tension and suspense.

Preliminary Task - Storyboard

This is the storyboard that we created, used to follow and guide us whilst we filmed our scene. All of the shots are included, along with each image, and the angle shots are also noted where necessary.

Preliminary Task - 180 Degree Rule

In film making, the 180 degree rule is a basic guideline that states two characters (or any elements) in the same scene, should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called the crossing line. The new shot from the opposite side is known as a reverse angle. It's generally good to keep the main character on the left side of the screen and secondary character on the right.

Preliminary Task - Script

We wrote this script to follow, basically whilst we decided on the type shots we were going to use for each part of the scene. The script worked tremendously well and I believe it fitted in well with the whole 'interrogation' scene setting.

Preliminary Task - Basic Editing: Batch Capture

This is research I created, to teach myself the steps in performing Batch Capture in Final Cut Pro, and so that I am confident in using this software to edit our Preliminary Task video.

Preliminary Task - Video Composition

This research of the Rule of Third's was obtained by another member of my group, Beckie. It has helped us to understand how to use this technique, which will contribute in helping us in our final task.
